Zoo Induced Coma

Just a little sidenote to the previous post. I must have really tired myself out after all the excitement at the zoo, because I went home and ate lunch, and then took a 4 hour nap!!

Lions, Tigers, Seagulls, oh my!!

Mom and I went to the zoo today!! We are now members and not just regular members,we have a supreme membership that includes free passes for an additional 2 guests at any time on any given day, everyday. Sooo, if you stay on our good side, maybe you can come up and come to the zoo with us for free! It is only 2 miles from my house, so I think I will be seeing lots of lions, tigers and bears this summer!

The most fascinating and unusual birds we saw, I actually think they are on the endangered list, are these unique birds. You can see one is white and gray and another one is big and brown. They are called Sea Gulls and Canadian Geese. I don't know if you have heard of them because of their rarity, but they are beautiful. Being endangered however, it was interesting that they were the most prevalent in the park, and we had to avoid their poop from getting on my strollers tires. Maybe Mom is lying to me about there endangered status and meant to say they are the most "annoying" birds at the zoo, not beautiful. I still liked them though.

The mighty polar bear sleeping in the sun. Most of the animals were sleeping as we made our way through. But it was the first sunny day in a few days, so it looked like a good idea and would feel good. I have a cool puppet of this animal. It is one of my favorites (thanks Uncle Jim!).

In the middle of the whole zoo is a great playground. I had it all to myself!

This is so much fun!!

AFLAC!

See the big lions in the background?? They were being pretty lazy too. We need to come during feeding time; they might get a little more excited. We did get to see the feeding of the bats in the nocturnal house. That was cool!!! Those zoo keepers are brave! There are tons of bats and the people just walk right in there and put there trays of fruit in place. They did say that the little bats eat just about their full body weight in food each day because they have a high metabolism. Just like me! Then they put food in the big bat cage. Those things were the size of rabbits with wings!
I also got to watch Mama feed the llamas! Those are hungry big fellows. All the other goats and sheep were jealous, but luckily some people came after us to treat them too.
I was a very good boy on this zoo trip. The only time I was on the verge of tears was when Mom took me in the exotic bird room, and we were checking out 2 big parrots, and they were so loud and scary! Mommy had to rush me out! But I kept it together and the floodgates never broke. I am such a great boy!

A Weekend at Grandpa's Funny Farm

I got to spend 2 nights at Grandpa and Grandma Gerard's Farm. Grandpa even took me to my first auction! It was fun. Mommy and Daddy took me out for a walk, too.
Plus, I got to ride a horse for the first time! Scout is his name, and he is a fine horse. I wanted to take him for a run through the countryside, but Mom and Dad didn't let me get him up to a run. Maybe next time I go, Auntie Jill can show me how to Barrel Race and Jump the horses. I'm not afraid!

Gidde - yup!

Dad and I crawled around at my cousin's house exploring the yard. It was the first time I crawled on nice green grass and it was so fun! I will be doing alot more exploring outside wherever I go. I tried to taste some new things, but Dad made me spit them out, like rocks, twigs, mulch, and even Hannah's Mood Ring. After sucking on it for awhile, Dad discovered it in my mouth and took it away. It changed to the color that showed I was in a hyperactive mood, and I was!

In the center of it all! Don't anyone step on me!

It was such a nice day to lounge around outside! Then on Sunday I got my first boat ride of the season at Grandpa Radzak's house. That was so much fun too. We had a campfire too and roasted hotdogs!

11 Months Old!

Today I turned 11 months old! I am getting so close to that big age of 1! Mom and I went to the grocery store, Menards and then to Arbys, where she shared her roast beef sandwich with me. Then we came home and planted peas in the garden. It was a fun, sunny day to be 11 months old!
In my 11 months of life, I have finally figured out how to transport my found treasures to other places in the house- my teeth! I just started doing this, putting my toys, keys, anything I find on the floor, in my mouth, and bringing them to other play areas. I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier!

My New Haircut and my TV addiction

Here I am in my favorite spot- right in front of the TV. Even though Mom and Dad have made it clear they don't want me here, that really doesn't matter to me at all!

Me and Daddy's ritual when Mom has to work in the evening- watching Wheel of Fortune! Daddy is super good! He always guesses the puzzle before the contestants do!

Standing with my new hair cut! Check me out! I am so handsome! Even though this is my fourth or fifth haircut, this is really my first buzz cut. I did so well. Mommy distracted me while Daddy buzzed away. I wasn't even scared of the sound or the vibes!

Cheeeeeeese!!!!

Just kidding, that is soooo childish...

Big News!

On April 12, yesterday, Mom witnessed my first free stand all by myself!! I was grabbing the remotes off the couch and with one remote in each hand, I stood for at least 15 seconds. I know you might not be too impressed, since most of you can stand for that long, and some of you can stand even longer, but that is big news in the baby world! I have not stood since then, but I don't want to flaunt my new talent. Maybe Daddy will get me standing again tonight!

Yummy Cookie!

Thanks Grandma G for the tasty cookie!

My Popper Toy

I don't know what is more fun- chewing on the handle, moving it back and forth, or watching fishing on TV. But doing all at the same time is great! Thanks Uncle Mike for this cool, retro toy!

My Friend's First Birthday Party

It was Landon's first birthday party on Saturday. It was at a hotel with a pool so after we ate all the yummy food, I got to go swimming with Daddy! Happy Birthday Landon!

My cool swim trunks are from my Uncle Jimmy! Pretty soon I will be out in San Diego taking surf lessons from him!

A nice backfloat, until Dad put my ears underwater, then the whining came.

A Beautiful Easter Celebration!

We had such a good Easter. My cousins came and spent the night- I had a fun time playing with them and egg hunting with them Easter morning. Then my Grandparents and Aunt Jill showed up and we all went to church together, where I was excellently behaved! We later feasted on lasagna, chicken, fresh fruit and deviled eggs and yummy chocolate cheesecake! It was a wonderful first Easter! I am so glad I was able to share it with my big family!
Daddy looks a little confused here- I'm just giving him a five!

Mommy gave me bunny ears! I don't think Dad approved.

Emma, Hannah, and Jack all looking great in their nice Easter clothes.

All right! Enough pictures!! I can't be still a moment longer- anyone near me better watch out, that means you Jack!!

Happy Easter!

I got to visit the Easter bunny at the mall the other day! Luckily Grandma Gerard had her camera with her to snap some cute photos of me!
